Day 6 - Tuesday, January 30th, 2001

Map of our route today!

Journey in a Nutshell
We left Geraldton, Ontario about 8:00 A.M. and headed toward Beardmore, Ontario.... lots of snow, we had trouble finding the trails today... they are not marked that well in this area.. The GPS came in handy several times. We stopped for lunch in Beardmore, the waitress said "We've been expecting you" apparently the word is getting out on our trip.  We ran low on fuel again, and waited for Adam for about 30 minutes... We gave him the satellite phone number and he called it when he could not find us.... since we were waiting for him, we had it on.. worked great.. We did not get into Gravel River until 5:30. The motel we stayed in was kind of rustic.. no phones, the TV got only one channel, the one that the satellite dish was tuned to, whichever room had it, got to watch what they want!  ADAM! As far as the "Question of the Day" yesterday... Pete did not get stuck, but today he did twice... the excuse was "the snow's deeper"

Please email us, we enjoy getting Mail !!!

We were all wondering "does it melt in the summer, or do they paint it green ???

Pete is carrying allot of technology, we are doing an extensive inventory and will report on what we find, whats this a shovel with a compass and fishing hook... we will keep you posted..

More technology... if he goes through the ice, he won't drown, he'll get electrocuted first.

According to the signs here in Gravel River, Ontario,  if we left from New Orleans and drove straight north , we are already more then half way to the North Pole, or if we left in a canoe it would take us 7 days to get to the USA. Movie of the day is of George (click here to download movie) "if may take up to 10 minutes to download"
