We made the Saginaw, Michigan newspaper..... Wow
Jouney
in a Nutshell
We are taking 3 new technologies on this years trip to add safety and
allow people to track our progress. The 1st technology is an Iridium
Satellite Phone, that works off the new Motorola low earth orbit satellite
system put up just last fall, it allows you to make phone calls from anywhere
on the globe. This will come in real handy, when treed by a moose or stuck
in a blizzard. The 2nd technology is a Lowrance Globalmap 100 Global Positioning
System GPS, which will show us exactly on a digital map where we are. This
will allow us to keep from getting lost and to let the rescuers know exactly
where we are, if treed by a moose or stuck in a blizzard. The 3rd technology
is a Kodak Digital Camera DC210 plus that we will use to take pictures
and upload onto the web page each night.
Due to mother nature's confusion on when spring starts "rains in lower Michigan and southern Ontario", the start of the Trip has been moved to St. Ignace, MI. going east to Blind River, Ont. We will be updating our map and adding pictures this evening when We get to our starting starting point in St. Ignace, MI at the Super 8 Motel
Update: the Super 8 Motel in St. Ignace, Michigan reniged on their
promise to let us leave our trucks in their parking lot. so...... we moved
to the Howard Johnson's... Thanks Mary for all your help in finding space
for us....
