Journey
in a Nutshell
Today we left Mantiouwadge, Ont. about 8:30 A.M. we were delayed because
Pete's snowmobile won't start, the choke froze up on it... (it was about
5 below 0) we pulled it into the garage at the motel and thawed it out...
We called WKYO radio in Caro on the Iridium satellite phone, for an interview
and trip update. Cell phones don't work this far north in Canada. We ate
lunch in White River, Ont. and road on to Wawa, Ont. getting in about 6:00
P.M. riding about 210 miles today. No one crashed or got stuck today.....
except for the flat tire on the chase van.... see story below...

We were riding down the trail, not having seen any signs of civilization in over 50 miles, when the trail comes alongside a highway. About a 1/4 mile up on the left we see a van along side the road, with some guy out under a trailer, changing a flat tire, as we get closer, we realize its Tim "Chase Ono" trying to get the jack to work.... so.... we stop and all go over and pick up the trailer so he can change the flat.... If he had the flat a mile earlier or later we would have missed him...... | |

Here we are about 15 miles out of Wawa, Ont. It's about
0 degree's , this area has the most snow we have seen so far....

This is a beautiful sunset we saw, just north of Wawa, Ont. which is on the eastern shore of Lake Superior. This afternoons ride was the most scenic to date.... lots of snow, trees and hills |
