Day 6 - Feb 2 (Tuesday)

Person of the Day: John Putnam, of Marlette Michigan
John is a veteran member of the Pattullo2000 group, this is his 5th year. He is a welder by trade, he is also single and says that he is looking for a wife with a snowmobile, if your interested, please send a picture of the snowmobile. John blew a piston on his snowmobile on Monday, just 10 miles from the motel we were heading for... we think that the picture above show he has more problems then he will admit.

Journey in a Nutshell
We got our fresh snow today....  It snowed all day. We left Hearst Ont. about 8:00 A.M. in the morning, attempting to head southwest toward Manitouwadge, Ont. but shortly after we started, our fearless leader realized we were heading northwest instead and that we had missed our turn..... so...... The trails were so good we decided to continue on the wrong trail for almost 100 miles and then turned around and drove back to Hearst, Ont. rechecking into the same motel we stayed last night.... The trials and snow are so good up here, we may never leave....... John's and Robert's suits got so wet from all the snow we encountered, that they went back to B&B sports and bought new suits, they had to buy with 50% off and another 50% on the exchange rate...... Joanne bought a jacket as well.

Image Trek

Dope of the Day: Here you see Eugene climbing over the rail of a railroad bridge over 60 feet above the frozen river below... He thinks he's 17 again.. He said he did this kind of thing alot when he was younger. We're going to have to watch him more closely!!! We were only 75 miles from the nearest hospital, although he would not have needed one, if he slipped.
These were the only people we saw on the trail, all day. They were from Wisconsin, they had taken the train in from the Soo. We got over 8 inches of snow today....This was on the way back from our trek to Longlac, Ont. .
We still have not seen any moose... although we have seen lots of fresh track, George is having trouble seeing the signs, and has to get real close...... This was just west of Hearst, Ont.
